This week the 6th grade students are learning about the 4 states of matter and their physical properties. They explored this topic by creating a non-newtonian fluid called oobleck. This is a simple combination of cornstarch and water. This liquid is unique because it may appear to be a solid when stress/force is applied. Students used their observations and textual evidence do explain if oobleck is a liquid or solid.
