Good day Bulldog Students, Families, and Community,
My name is Amy McNease, and I am honored and excited to begin my 25th year in education as an Assistant Principal at Roy Johnson STEM Academy!
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Texas A&M University, followed by a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, emphasizing Teaching, Learning, and Culture.
My career began in a small 1A school where I served as the only secondary science teacher, teaching 7th and 8th Grade Science, Biology, Chemistry, and IPC. I later transitioned to a 6A high school in the Houston area, where I taught Biology and coached Basketball, Softball, Volleyball, Wrestling, and Track. Eventually, I moved to the DFW area and taught Biology, IB Biology SL, Scientific Research and Design, and Environmental Systems. As the Head Women’s Wrestling Coach, my teams consistently qualified for the UIL State Championship Tournament.
As an administrator, I have served at both 6A and 5A high schools, including roles as a Summer School Assistant Principal and an Assistant Principal of Special Programs. I am proud to currently be part of the administrative team here at Roy Johnson STEM Academy. Throughout my career, I have supported campus operations as the Testing Coordinator, 504 Coordinator, and LPAC Coordinator, while also leading truancy oversight efforts and facilitating professional development for staff. In my current role, I serve as the Campus Behavior Coordinator and oversee digital communications and event highlights to keep families and the community informed and engaged.
At Roy Johnson STEM Academy, I am dedicated to keeping student learning at the heart of everything we do. I believe in fostering a supportive academic environment where students can rise to challenges, develop perseverance, and grow into responsible, respectful Bulldogs.
As an administrator, I am also committed to supporting students through PBIS—Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports—a proactive framework that promotes positive behavior and a safe learning environment. At Roy Johnson STEM Academy, this includes helping students model our P.A.W.S. expectations by showing Pride, being Accountable, making Wise choices, and staying Safe. These values are essential to building a strong, respectful, and responsible school community.
YOU are a bright, beloved, and beautiful part of the Bulldog Community! Together, we will embrace each person’s value and move forward with One Goal … One Purpose … Student Success.
Have a Great Bulldog Day!
