Dean of Instruction
Dean of Instruction - Enjoli Walters
Greetings Roy Johnson STEM Academy families!!
Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!! It is with great honor and pleasure that I will serve as Dean of Instruction here at Roy Johnson STEM Academy for this school year! This is the beginning of my 22nd year in education. I developed such passion and enthusiasm for teaching at an early age and wanted to be a role model and positive influence for the future leaders in our community. I am originally from Wichita
Falls, TX and I attended Midwestern State University during my undergraduate studies and graduated in May 2002 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. I began my teaching journey in Wichita Falls ISD in the fall of 2002. During that time, I also developed a passion for bilingual education after the enrollment of English language learners increased in my home district. I decided to teach myself Spanish so that I could touch the lives of even more students in my community.
In 2007, I earned my bilingual certification and began teaching bilingual classes in my district. I have taught grade levels from early childhood (PK) through second grade, as well as, fourth and fifth grade. Ten years later, I graduated from Lamar University, where I earned a Master of Science Degree in Educational Administration along with my Principal Certification in December 2017.
In 2019, I relocated to Everman ISD where I began teaching 4th grade bilingual classes at Hommel Elementary. I later began teaching 5th grade RLA bilingual classes, at Souder Elementary for two years starting in 2020. During this time, I was selected as the “2021 Elementary District Teacher of The Year.”
In the fall of 2022, I became the instructional coach at Souder elementary where I supported teachers with their curriculum and instructional practices, provided on-site classroom based coaching support, planned and assessed student progress toward meeting standards, and improved teachers' content management and instructional strategies to better address the needs of all students in a positive learning environment.
In the spring of 2022, I became the interim assistant principal at Roy Johnson STEM where I worked closely with the campus principal in making curriculum and instructional leadership decisions, managed daily campus operations, and established meaningful relationships with parents, staff, and students.
As the Dean of Instruction, my first priority is student success. My goal is to support our teachers in creating and maintaining productive environments conducive to learning. Environments where students feel loved, valued, and respected in an effort to promote student academic success, as we develop lifelong
learners in our ever-changing global society. I am excited about this school year and ready to serve our staff, parents, and students with our district vision in mind, ONE GOAL...ONE PURPOSE...STUDENT SUCCESS! My door is always open should you need assistance. Please feel free to reach out to me anytime. Let's have an AMAZING year!!!
