Hello JSA Bulldog Family,
I am excited to start this school year as an Everman Bulldog! Education has been my passion for twenty years. I started my career as a middle school science teacher in Dallas ISD, later becoming a high school science teacher in Mansfield ISD. After eleven years of teaching, I accepted the opportunity to be a district Science Coordinator, in which I served as an instructional leader in addition to facilitating the development, implementation and evaluation of the district’s 6-12th science program for nine years. In my career, I have also served as a Science Director.
I am a proud alumna of Grambling State University, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education and the University of North Texas, where I earned a Master of Education in Educational Leadership. I am certified at the elementary and secondary levels in science and I have both Principal and Superintendent certifications. I am currently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. I am also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
I am originally from Detroit, Michigan, but I have called Texas home for twenty years. I am a true science nerd and love everything science, including museums and sci-fi movies. I love traveling, spending time with my family and volunteering in my community. I am married to my wonderful husband, Henry and together we have two amazing children, Christian and Morgan. Christian currently serves in the United States Air Force and Morgan is a high school student. Whenever time permits, I travel and my travel goals are to visit all fifty states and the seven wonders of the world.
It is my belief that through collaborative practices, all of us can work together to develop and sustain a dynamic learning environment that is student-centered resulting in academic growth for all. I vow to model, challenge, inspire and support all members of the Everman family in maintaining a collaborative culture that promotes academic success for all while inspiring students to become lifelong learners.
